Welcome to my Web site!

Hello my name is Ross Brewer and I live in Wallington, Surrey.  I am originally from Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire.

(Updated 29.11.05) I came 21st at the World Championships in the All around final.  I am also the British Champion, the English Champion and the London Open Champion again for 2005.

(Updated 8.11.04) I am the British Champion, the English Champion and the London Open Champion for 2004.

I was the British Champion for Men’s Artistic Gymnastics 2003. I won the competition which was held in Stoke in November. I was also the English Champion and the London Open Champion for 2003. I have won two Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. My first was in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur and my second was in 2002 in Manchester. I have also competed in four World championships and three World University Games.  My full CV is here.

(Updated 8.5.05) Once again my lottery funding has come to an end as men's artistic gymnastics funding has been slashed drastically.

(Updated 11.6.04) I Have just been reinstated with a lottery grant following my recent 12th place at the European Championships.

[Nov 2003 Until last month I was receiving a lottery grant but Men’s Artistic Gymnastics is no longer receiving any funding and my grant has consequently been stopped.]

I train at and compete for Sutton School of Gymnastics. The club is located in the Wandle Valley School in Carshalton. I am coached by Simon Moore, coach to Lee McDermott who is a former British Olympian and Commonwealth medalist.  I started gymnastics at the age of about 10 (1989 I think!) at Raans Chiltern Gymnastics Club with Bob Evans and then moved to Woking (1996 I think!) where I was first coached by Simon.  I then moved with Simon to Sutton (2000 I think!) where I now train.

I graduated from Surrey University in 2002 with a First Class Honours Degree in Mathematics. I now train twice a day with Thursdays and Sundays as rest days. On Thursdays I have started working to provide some income to support my training and living expenses but this will provide only half of my former lottery grant income and so I have set up this web page in the hope that someone will be able to make some contribution, however small, to enable me to continue with my current training schedule.

My intention is to continue training and competing at World and European level until the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. At that stage I will consider the possibility of competing in the 2008 Olympics and if I believe that I have a good chance I will continue training.  My goal is to improve on my performance at the 2002 Commonwealths where I made the Pommel final but made an error which cost me an individual medal.

If you are interested in sponsoring me or require any further information about me or my club please email me here or visit the club’s website at http://www.suttonsg.org/ where you will find all the latest results from British Gymnastics.  I would also like to thank the companies who have already supported me on my sponsorship page.  Please visit the page here.
